Pre-Approval

Projects involv­ing Human Par­tic­i­pants, Ver­te­brates and High­er Func­tion­ing Inver­te­brates, Poten­tial­ly Haz­ardous Bio­log­i­cal Agents (includes microbes, tissue/cell lines, organs, organ parts, blood prod­ucts, rDNA, phages), Haz­ardous Chem­i­cals, Activ­i­ties or Devices (HCAD) need to obtain pre-approval from the LACSEF Sci­en­tif­ic Review Com­mit­tee (SRC) before exper­i­men­ta­tion may begin. Project plans must com­ply with guide­lines from the Inter­na­tion­al Sci­ence and Engi­neer­ing Fair (ISEF) as mod­i­fied by the Los Ange­les Coun­ty Sci­ence & Engi­neer­ing Fair in regard to safe­ty and ethics.

Intent to Participate

All projects require com­ple­tion of an Intent to Par­tic­i­pate Form, whether they require pre-approval or not.
